What is SellLink? A plain-English guide
SellLink connects shoppers to independent sellers and every place they sell. Here is how it works, in plain English.
Updated
You may have seen a SellLink link on a social post, a product page or a friend's profile and wondered what it is. Fair question. Here is the short, honest answer.
SellLink is a discovery platform for independent sellers and the shoppers looking for them. A seller creates one SellLink storefront. That storefront brings together their products, the story of their business and the places where they sell. Shoppers browse, learn who is behind the products, and then choose where to buy.
What SellLink is
Think of it as the front door to a small business. Many independent sellers work across their own website, one or more marketplaces and social channels. A shopper might find one product and never learn about the rest of the business, or about the other places it sells. SellLink was created to connect those pieces.
For shoppers, it works in three steps:
1. Discover independent sellers and unique products from small businesses in one place. 2. Compare buying options, so you can see the available stores without searching site after site. 3. Buy where you prefer, by going directly to the product on a marketplace or website you already trust.
What SellLink is not
We want to be clear about this one. SellLink is a discovery layer. It is not a replacement checkout for a seller's existing stores. When you decide to buy, the purchasing link takes you to the seller's own website or marketplace listing, and the purchase happens there.
That also means sellers keep selling the way they already do. Nobody has to rebuild a shop or move a catalog to be on SellLink.
What sellers get
For sellers, a SellLink storefront is one place to show everywhere you sell. It includes:
- A public storefront and a Store Bio, where you tell shoppers about your business - Product imports and bulk uploads, so you do not have to start over - Multiple purchasing destinations for a product, where that applies - Sharing tools for your storefront and individual products - Seller analytics, including storefront views, product views and buying-link activity
The Storefront plan is one simple monthly price of $20 a month. We are also inviting sellers to become one of SellLink's first 100 Founding Sellers. Qualifying Founding Sellers receive permanent Founding Seller recognition on their storefront. The current signup flow shows the plan details, so check there for the latest.
Why we built it
We saw the need. Independent sellers often run their business across several places, and shoppers can discover a single product without ever discovering the business or the other places it sells. We wanted to build the link that ties it together, so that more shoppers find the people behind the products.
A quick example
Say a seller makes dog treats. She sells through her own website, lists a few items on a marketplace and posts new flavors on social media. Today she has to share three different links, and a shopper who sees one never sees the others. With a SellLink storefront, she shares one. Shoppers see her products, read her Store Bio, and pick the place they would rather buy from. She does not change how she sells. She just makes it easier for people to find all of it.
How shoppers use it
Browse by search, by category or by visiting a seller's storefront. When a product catches your eye, open it and look at the buying options. Each one links out to a store the seller already runs. You can also share a storefront or a single product with a friend, which helps small sellers more than most people realize.
Who it is for
If you sell handmade goods, specialty foods, pet treats, art or anything else you make or source yourself, and you sell in more than one place, SellLink is built for you. If you are a shopper who likes to support small businesses and see the story behind a product, it is built for you too.
You can browse at selllink.shop. If you are a seller, visit selllink.shop/sell to see how storefronts work and whether it fits your business.
We are a small team and we read everything people send us. If something here is not clear, tell us. We would rather fix the explanation than leave you guessing.
